Nielsen Family Scholarship

Established by Leslie (Nielsen) HItchner, Class of 1979

The Nielsen Family Scholarship was established to honor the Nielsen family commitment to the Columbus community, and honors parents Edward Nielsen (Class of 1955), Jolaine Nielsen (Class of 1956) and all of her siblings who attended CHS, Christine Nielsen Hancock (Class of 1982), Laurie Nielsen Singer (Class of 1986), and Shelly Nielsen Shmidt (Class of 1988).

The recipient of this scholarship will be awarded $5,000.

Criteria:
Must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
Financial need, College Funding Estimator Results.
2 letters of recommendation (one of which is from a current/previous teacher).
Transcripts 9-12 grades.
ACT/SAT scores
Interview (3 highest scoring applicants will be invited to a three-panel interview)
Must be used for tuition at a 4 year university.
