The Columbus Public School Foundation is excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity for Columbus High School students.

The Columbus Public School Foundation is excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity for Columbus High School students.

This memorial scholarship is named after Anton Micek and Vincent Mausbach, two longtime Columbus residents who were hard working farmers that understood the importance of establishing sound values and principles in life. They raised their families around solid foundations and set examples for their children and grandchildren to follow. The scholarships will be funded by the children and grandchildren of Harry and Donna (Micek) Crebbin and the children of Vincent and Floreine Mausbach.

This scholarship program is designed to draw the applicant’s attention to the importance of having a solid foundation in life. A foundation built on key principles. These principles or “pillars” serve to form a solid base from which to build upon throughout life. The six “pillars” that serve as the foundation for this scholarship program are: Faith, Family, Fellowship, Integrity, Stewardship and Gratitude.

The $5,000 in scholarship funds will be awarded to three graduating seniors from Columbus High School who will attend an accredited four-year university or an accredited two-year community college. There will be three separate scholarship awards annually- first place in the amount of $2,500, second place in the amount of $1,500 and third place in the amount of $1,000

Columbus Public School Foundation Director, Kim Kwapnioski stated, “The timing of this scholarship is perfect with the new high school and all of the prospects that the new school will bring, as well as providing opportunities for students to continue their education. These scholarships will help many students do great things.”
