Camp Invention was held again this past summer at Lost Creek Elementary June 15th-19th. This summer experience is for Columbus children entering grades one through six. Camp Invention is made up of learning opportunities led by local teachers. Camp Invention each year teaches curriculum that aligns with the state and national education standards. Children that attend the camp are challenged to learn through teamwork while providing exciting challenges and designing new ideas. During this week long Camp children discover the fields STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) with hands on activities. Columbus had 106 participants attend this year’s Camp. Thanks to a generous donation from MaryAnn (Behlen) Hruska through Columbus Public Schools Foundation scholarships were given to CPS students who registered. These scholarships provide an unforgettable weeklong experience of fun and creative learning. Contact the CPS Foundation office today at 402-563-7000 ext. 1103 to receive more information on how you can create scholarship opportunities for the student of Columbus Public Schools attending Camp Invention.
