CPS Shopping for Charities
Each year employees have the opportunity to make a one-time payment or payroll deduction to contribute and support local organizations that give back to the school and community.
This year the District is focusing on increasing our giving numbers with new incentives and plans to make it work for all employees! Let’s show how much we care!
$100/$100 Plan
Columbus Public Schools has a tremendous Foundation and serves as a pacesetter organization for the United Way. In order to maintain our strong support we are launching the $100/$100 Plan. Employees can give $100 to each organization through 10 payroll deductions from September through June of the upcoming school year. This plan would result in a $20 payroll deduction each month and you would receive a Columbus Public Schools T-Shirt along with eligibility for several prize packages. If you choose to give to just one of the organizations it would result in a $10 payroll deduction each month. If you choose to make your donation online it is a one time donation as we cannot set-up payroll deduction online.
Drawings will be available for each the United Way and Foundation for staff who give any amount.
Each employee will also have the opportunity to make a larger donation, a one-time contribution, or contribute to just one of the organizations similar to years past and may still be eligible for prizes.
District Giving Goals and Prizes
New this year are benchmark goals (total for both United Way and the Foundation) that will trigger additional prize packages for those who donate. There are also additional benefits for the entire District staff if goals are met! If total giving from employees for both organizations equals or exceeds the following benchmarks here is what occurs:
$27,000
Drawings will be available for each the United Way and Foundation for staff who give any amount.
80% Staff Giving
A lunch will be provided for the staff at each building who have 80% participation in shopping for charities.
$43,000 (215 staff members contributing to the 100/100 plan)
Jeans may be worn by all employees for the entire school year when worn with a CPS branded polo or t-shirt.
